Ireland, Moving and “Blog Interruptus”
I aim to publish a blog post every Tuesday but I missed the last couple weeks because I was in Ireland. When I returned, LexBlog was in the midst of a 5-block move that felt more like a 1,000 miles.
That 1-2 punch knocked me off my game. This post is my way of clawing back into a blogging mindset.
Ireland was about links golf and pints of Guinness and laughs with three friends. We played 2 courses in Northern Ireland and 5 courses in the Republic of Ireland. In order of play:
- Royal Portrush Golf Club
- Royal County Downs
- Connemara Golf Course
- Lahinch Golf Club
- Tralee Golf Club
- Mt. Juliet Golf Course
- The European Club
I’d need a good reason to return to Mt. Juliet (parkland course) and The European Club (too many blind shots coupled with a so-so layout).
As for the other five, give me the opportunity to play and I’ll return in a heartbeat. I’ll share more about this wondrous trip in later blog posts. If you’re a serious golfer know this: of the approximately 160 true links in this world, 51 are in Ireland.
Here’s some “teaser” snapshots of this emerald island jewel:
These are the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. They rise 702 feet above the Atlantic Ocean in some places.
Lahinch is a seaside town on Liscannor Bay, on the northwest coast of County Clare, Ireland. I saw surfers in those white caps. That’s Richard, Glenn and John to the right.
This was shot from the Tralee Golf Course during a brief sun break. The weather was hell that day.
By the way, LexBlog’s HQ is now in the Dexter Horton Building. Our new address:
710 Second Avenue
Suite 660
Seattle, WA 98104
LexBlog’s VP of Chill, Viggo, found his own way to survive the move.
