Start a Blog – “No, I Don’t Want to Hear Any Excuses. Just Do It.”

Here’s Nicole Black on how to reach potential clients:http://www.youtube.com/embed/eVeLu-IVG7g?feature=oembed&start=153

If you want to establish a strong online persona, Nicole would say:

  1. Decide on niche and make that your focus.
  2. Subscribe to blogs where people write on your niche.
  3. Identify your “niche” influencers and follow them.
  4. Read their blog posts, tweets and updates.
  5. Take your “online relationship offline” — meet in person — listen.
  6. Make yourself part the “online conversation” – start your own blog.
  7. Cite your influencers in your blogs posts and add your unique twist.
  8. Shoot your influencer an email thanking them for inspiring you.
  9. Share their blog post -and yours -on social media. People like recognition.
  10. Keep blogging.

Having a large audience isn’t the point of blogging. Why?

Because a blog is about offense. Your offense. You accomplish powerful things by blogging professionally. Paraphrasing Nicole – you are:

  • Staying “abreast of topics trending” in your niche.
  • Engaging and having conversations with people who can help you.
  • Creating a “body of work” that showcases your passion and intellect.
  • Accelerating relationships and word-of-mouth that drive referrals.
